Not sure what size firewood you need? Check the kW rating on your heater's front panel or in the manual, that's what actually determines the right split size, not the room size. Regular Split suits most freestanding heaters and open fireplaces (roughly the size of a loaf of bread, 30cm long). Double Split is better suited to smaller heaters under 8kW, slow combustion units and pizza ovens (about the width of a wrist or a wine bottle, 30cm long). How much firewood do I need?
This depends on your heater's kW rating (check the compliance plate) and how often you burn. Use our Firewood Finder above for a personalised recommendation.
What's the difference between Standard and Double Split?
Standard Split pieces are about the size of a loaf of bread. Double Split pieces are thinner — about the width of a wrist or a wine bottle — and suit smaller fireboxes or quicker-lighting fires.
Do you deliver to my area?
We deliver across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Delivery happens within a standard window for your suburb — see our [Delivery page] for days and zones.
Where does the bin get placed?
Up to 20m from the street. We don't deliver to the door.
Can I subscribe instead of ordering one-off?
Yes — Swap & Burn subscriptions run weekly, fortnightly, every 3 weeks or every 4 weeks. You can also just order a single bin with no ongoing commitment.
What if I already have a wheelie bin from another supplier?
We'll swap it for one of ours at no extra bin fee — select "Wood Refill / Bin Swap" at checkout.
